Wet Rotary Kiln Overview
The wet rotary kiln belongs to the category of building materials and equipment. It is widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, building refractories, environmental protection, and other industries. The rotary kiln is composed of cylinder, supporting device, supporting device with baffle wheel, transmission device, movable kiln head, sealing device of kiln tail, coal injection pipe device, etc. The kiln body of the wet rotary kiln is inclined to a certain level. The whole kiln body is supported by a supporting wheel device and has a wheel-retaining device to control the movement of the kiln body up and down. In addition to the main drive, the transmission system is also equipped with an auxiliary drive device which can rotate the kiln body when the source of the main power is broken and prevent the kiln body from bending and deforming. The sealing device of the kiln head and the kiln tail adopts advanced technology to ensure the tightness and reliability of seal.

Wet Rotary Kiln Performance Characteristics
Because raw material is made into the mud, it has strong adaptability to heterogeneous raw material, uniform raw material composition, stable process, high quality of clinker, high clinker strength, less dust in grinding process and less fly ash in kiln tail. However, evaporating 30%-40% of slurry moisture in wet production requires a large amount of heat. The energy consumption accounts for 1/2-1/3 of the cost of cement, which is higher than that of the vertical kiln and dry rotary kiln. Because of the high heat consumption, high energy consumption, large water consumption, and water resources consumption in wet production, wet cement production has been listed as a type of kiln that restricts the elimination of cement.
Wet Rotary Kiln Basic Function
In order to produce good cement clinker and reduce coal consumption, the wet rotary kiln should have the following basic functions:
1. Pulverized coal can be sprayed into the kiln in a dispersed form and at a certain speed, and the mixing of coal and air can be strengthened.
2. It can strengthen the gas disturbance and increase the gas diffusion speed, so as to blow the volatile gas film around the pulverized coal particles, and expand the contact between fixed carbon and secondary air.
3. It can supply adequate fresh air to solve the problem of anoxia in the flame center.
4. Low primary air consumption can improve the utilization rate of clinker heat recovery.
5. It can adapt to the change of incoming materials more quickly. The shape and length of the flame and the position of the flame should be easily controlled and adjusted.
6. It has strong adaptability to combustion quality.
7. The ambient temperature of the wet rotary kiln is very high. The nozzle of the rotary kiln should have high-temperature resistance. Effective high-temperature resistance measures should be taken to prevent the nozzle from burning out.
Wet Rotary Kiln Equipment Composition
1. Cylinder body and kiln lining: Cylinder body is rolled up by a steel plate, which is the container for material to complete physical and chemical changes, and therefore the body of the rotary kiln. The material temperature in the kiln can reach more than 1450 C, so refractories are built in the cylinder, which can protect the cylinder and reduce heat dissipation. According to the material change process, the cylinder body is divided into working belts, such as drying belts, pre-tropical belts, decomposition belts, firing belts, and cooling belts.
2. Heat exchanger: In order to enhance the heat transfer effect, there are many types of chains hanging in the cylinder to form a heat exchange device.
3. Wheel belt: The weight of all rotary kiln parts, such as a cylinder, kiln lining, and material, is transferred to the supporting device through the wheel belt.
4. Supporting device: It consists of a pair of supporting wheels bearing group and a large base. A pair of supporting wheels support a wheel belt, which allows the cylinder to move freely and transfers the huge load to the foundation. Supporting devices are generally 2-7 gears, in which one or several gears are equipped with a retaining wheel, called a retaining wheel support device. Its function is to limit or control the axial movement of the rotary part of the kiln.
5. Driving device: The middle part of the cylinder is equipped with gear rings, and the spring plate is installed on the cylinder. The cylinder is rotated by gears. At the same time, in order to meet the needs of operation and maintenance, an auxiliary drive is set up in Shanghai to make the kiln rotate at very low speed.
6. Kiln Head Cover: It is the intermediate between the kiln head end and the next process equipment in the process. It is the zone where the initiating worker carries out the production operation. Therefore, the shaking head cover is equipped with a fire hole and an overhaul door.
7. Burner: Rotary burners are mostly inserted from the end of the cylinder kiln, radiating materials through the flame and heating to the required temperature. The burner has coal injection pipe, oil injection gun, gas injection nozzle and so on.
8. Cold smoke chamber: It is an intermediate connecting kiln tail with material feeding device and flue gas treatment equipment. The flue gas is discharged from the cold smoke chamber into the flue and dust collection system. The material is fed directly to the tail of the kiln by the feeding device.
9. Feeding device: It is accessory equipment of rotary kiln. The feeding requirements are stable, uniform and easy to control in order to cooperate with the operation of the kiln.
